De gunslinger Clint Tollinger komt in het stadje Sheridan City aan. Hij is op zoek naar zijn ex-vrouw en inmiddels hoerenmadam Nelly Bain, om meer te weten te komen over hun dochter Breth. Clint komt er al snel achter, dat de bevolking van Sheridan City wordt geterroriseerd door outlaws, die in dienst zijn van de grootgrondbezitter Dade Holman.
